Merian Am Rhein Basel

I recently stayed at Sorell Hotel in Basel for a weekend getaway. The picturesque view of the Rhine was amazing, and the hotel's close proximity to the tram made it very convenient for exploring the city. The old part of the hotel had a charming atmosphere, even though it was a bit small. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast had the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. The hotel provided bicycles which were perfect for discovering the city and its surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the complimentary water, apples, and Rituals toiletries were a nice touch. Despite the lack of AC , the fan provided in the room was great. it was a wonderful stay at Sorell Hotel.

Despite some minor drawbacks, I do recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and great location.

The whole place was clean, I loved it, and had great location and staff. The attached restaurant was good with a wide range of meals in the menu. I had really enjoyable days staying at this European hotel...

The hotel was fairly clean and efficient, loved the exceptionally comfortable beds. The property was a few steps away from Basel downtown. My room was upgraded. Great meals with bottled drinks.

The location was fantastic, with fine views of the river and bridge. It was also very convenient to access the old town and explore the city. One of the best things about the hotel was the spacious room with plenty of space for a comfortable stay. The staff were also excellent, always courteous and helpful. the breakfast offered a great variety of delicious food.

Fairly clean hotel with helpful staff and unbeatable location not far from the shopping area as well as Basel.

I loved the convenient location of the hotel right by the Rhine and close to all the attractions. Though my room had a small window, it had everything I needed including a comfortable bed and a well-equipped en-suite bathroom.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The location couldn't be better, right on the river by the busy Mittel Bridge. We had a fantastic view of the Rhine from our room, and it was amazing to watch the light play at sunset and sunrise. The hotel is in the center of town, with lots of restaurants and shops right around the corner. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, from the receptionist the night before to the waiter who brought us coffee in the morning. And the buffet breakfast was delicious, with a great range of options.

We recommend this hotel to everyone. It's the perfect place to stay in the middle of town with great views of the Rhine.

Being a disabled traveler, I appreciated the convenience of the garage for storing my bikes. The proximity to the Rhine river allowed me to enjoy a refreshing swim and take in the stunning views. The hotel's terrace provided a picturesque setting to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset. The limit on food waste policy at breakfast was a commendable initiative.

I felt incredibly fortunate to have discovered this hotel and had no complaints whatsoever.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, with close proximity to the exhibition centre and the city center. We were able to easily reach all the events and attractions happening in the area, including a wedding directly across the river. Additionally, the room was comfortable and well-equipped, with a great view of the Rhine. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes to choose from.

The room felt a bit cramped and lacked proper ventilation, which made it stuffy at times.

As youngsters, we loved the outstanding staff who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Beatrice provided exceptional service, while Ivy called us before our trip to ensure we knew how to use the free trams. The manager even visited our table during breakfast. The location by the river Rhine and near the city center was a dream. We enjoyed exploring the nearby restaurants. The friendly staff made us feel welcome, and the breakfast on the terrace with a view of the river was excellent. We also appreciated the complimentary bottle of water and Toblerone chocolates at check-out. The comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms were a highlight. the hotel provided a wonderful experience.

Great location with easy access to public transport, historic bridge, and beautiful river views. Clean and comfortable rooms with great hotel facilities and a delicious breakfast. The staff was polite, professional, and made us feel welcome.

Nothing I didn't like to be fair.

We easily found the hotel by crossing the main bridge from the airport and walking to the quiet side of the river. We loved the view from the room overlooking the river and old town, and the restaurant served delicious food with stunning scenery. The staff was friendly and provided a travel pass and museum discount. The room was modern and had all the necessary facilities.

The elevator was small and slow, making it difficult for people in wheelchairs or with lots of luggage to move around.

Great location, just a few steps away from shops and trams with direct connections to the train station. The view of the bridge, river, and city is fine. The staff was cute and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was generous with lots of variety, offering both sweet and savory treats.

There were a couple of downsides. The pillows provided were too low, but thankfully there was a pillow menu to choose from.

Great location by the river with easy access to shops, bars, and restaurants. Staff are exceptionally helpful in all areas, including reception and restaurant, making guests feel at home. Generous breakfast buffet with a variety of delicious food options. Rooms provide magnificent views of the river and old town. Dog-friendly and convenient parking available.

Fantastic location, great breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, transport tickets provided, discount card for tours.

The location by the side of the Rhine was excellent. Easy to get around. Excellent and informative staff. Great breakfast options. Really good view of the river and old bridge. Hotel has own garage.

Absolutely nothing.

This place is great! I loved staying here because it was in the center of town with beautiful views of the river. There were lots of great restaurants nearby and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room had everything I needed, including a mini-bar and a sitting area. The breakfast buffet was amazing with lots of options to choose from. I also appreciated the free toiletries and the fact that the staff cleaned my room every day.

Recommended to everyone.

The view from our balcony was fine, overlooking the Rhine. The room, although plain, was clean and efficient. The hotel's location was perfect, close to everything in Basel, and the free bus pass was a great bonus. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff were super gracious and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
